I am an independent consultant and economist, and founder and Director of Acorn Economics. My expertise is in sustainable economic development and the green transition, with a particular interest in the opportunities and importance of cities in climate mitigation and adaptation. I have 15 years of experience in academia and consultancy, both in the UK and internationally.

I previously worked for Vivid Economics and McKinsey, managing projects for both private and public sector clients, including the FCDO, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, ClimateWorks Foundation, and UNECA. I led our firm-wide sustainability modelling team and the scaling up of our economic tools, assets, and data.

Prior to joining Vivid, I worked as a Junior Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, combining traditional data sources, satellite imagery, and economic modelling to study patterns of urbanisation in Africa, and lecturing in Econometrics and Development Economics. I have delivered a number of high profile projects, including a flagship World Bank report using an original spatial CGE model to consider the development potential of one of the world’s mega cities, Dhaka, research on the trade and prosperity implications of the Belt and Road Initiative in Central Asia, and work for the UK Government on barriers to international trade and investment.

I have experience on studies covering all regions of the world, including the UK, France, Brazil, Kenya, Ghana, Bangladesh, the Philippines, and Australia.  I completed a PhD at Toulouse School of Economics.
